London Fashion Week SS17 – Urban Romance & Fantasy

23/09/2016

Indian fashion designer Rocky Star presented his exquisite collection ‘Shringara' at London Fashion Week on Friday 16th September 2016.

As the theme running through Rocky's SS17 showcase was love and emotion, wonder if Rocky took inspiration from the epic Ramayana & Mahabarata stories or Bollywood films?  Some of the outfits were elaborate with embellishment, detailed embroidery, flowery prints and sheer fabric.  Other frivolous frocks had ruffles, frills, patchwork and clip belts.

A combination of styles included floor length dresses, diagonally-cut dresses and micro mini dresses accessorised with beaded handbags and large Indian earrings.  Some flower headpieces were also featured.

Rocky Star is already well recognised for his design/styling work with clients in the Bollywood film industry and international celebrities. He certainly lived up to his brand name ‘Rocky Star' as he's a true star and has set the bar high for his industry competitors.

On Sunday 18th September, Fei Fei Cicada's spectacular fashion show ‘Elapsed Dreams in the Reverie Palace' took place in the magnificent surroundings of Victoria & Albert museum.

Like a theatrical production, poised models appeared from behind gold drapes and floated along in dresses fit for royalty.  Fei Fei's SS17 collection included gowns and coats made of satin, tulle and organza with trains, frilled collars and puffed sleeves.  Fei's creations were like dresses worn by European women living in stately homes in 18th & 19th century.  Although this was a Spring/Summer showcase, the colours Fei used in her outfits were brown, black, gold, copper and orange which seemed quite Autumnal.

The experience at Fei Fei Cicada's LFW show was spellbinding and felt like I was on the set of a period film. Fei Feng is hugely talented and one to watch in the future of fashion.

All these LFW shows were successfully co-ordinated by Portia Shaw & her great team at Pop PR.

Planet Fei Fei Cicada

Fei Fei Cicada's
Fabulous gowns evoke a
World of fantasy

Fei Fei's gorgeous gowns
Shimmer and float as ladies
Stroll about in them

Fei's satin and silk
Gowns are like works of fine art
Dramatic, timeless.
